Railway Vegetation Inspection

Extreme weather such as drought, floods, and storms increase in frequency and intensity due to climate change. This is causing an exponentially increasing threat for infrastructure such as railway lines. Especially in remote and densely forested areas, a fallen tree can go undetected until it derails trains resulting in expensive repairs, frequent delays, and fatal accidents.

Inspections from ground vehicles, helicopters, and drones are expensive, weather-sensitive, slow, staff-intensive, and not environmentally sustainable. Also, after storms or forest fires, traditional inspection is overwhelmed by high demand, becoming even more expensive.
